Alex started his photographic career as an assistant to renowned advertising photographer Peter Rauter in 1991, working on international campaigns for the major London advertising agencies. He thus gained a classical education in the techniques of photography long before the digital revolution.
Alex has been commissioned by architects and designers to provide fine art photographic prints to hang in new spaces. These clients include Gordon Ramsay in Paris, Restaurant The Trianon Palace in Versailles and Hotel Soho House in Berlin, the Four Season, Abu Dhabi and many, many more.
Alex opened a print studio in 2005 to produce self-commissioned fine art prints. The Chandler Gallery in San Francisco started representing Alex in 2008 for his fine art work. His work has been bought by various private and institutional collections, including the Windle Collection in the US and Fauchier Partners in London.
From the beginning, Alex has specialized in photographic printing, first in silver gelatin and more recently in pigmented ink. His clients include a wide range of leading photographic and graphic artists working in the UK today.
